ONTOLOGY REPORT - ANNOTATIONS

Term:phospholipase C-activating G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway
go back to main search page
Accession:GO:0007200 term browser browse the term
Definition:The series of molecular signals generated as a consequence of a G protein-coupled receptor binding to its physiological ligand, where the pathway proceeds with activation of phospholipase C (PLC) and a subsequent increase in the concentration of inositol trisphosphate (IP3) and diacylglycerol (DAG).
Comment:This term is intended to cover steps in a GPCR signaling pathway both upstream and downstream of phospholipase C (PLC) activity.
Synonyms:exact_synonym: G protein signaling, coupled to IP3 second messenger (phospholipase C activating);   G protein signalling, coupled to IP3 second messenger (phospholipase C activating);   G-protein coupled receptor signaling pathway coupled to IP3 second messenger;   PLC-activating GPCR signaling pathway
related_synonym: activation of phospholipase C activity by G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway coupled to IP3 second messenger;   phospholipase C-activating dopamine receptor signaling pathway
