Definition:Any process that decreases the rate, frequency, or extent of the spindle checkpoint, a cell cycle checkpoint that delays the metaphase/anaphase transition until the spindle is correctly assembled and oriented, and chromosomes are attached to the spindle.
Comment:Note that this term should not be used for direct manual annotation as it should always be possible to specify the type of checkpoint (i.e mitotic spindle or DNA damage etc).
